All harveymaria® floors are suitable for laying in bathrooms, shower-rooms, kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and conservatories.
Installation for the Home: Handy Hints
- The sub-floor onto which your new flooring is to be laid should be permanently dry, clean, rigid, free of flaws and flat.
- Suitable surfaces include well fitted 4mm or 6mm plywood and screeded concrete floors. Do not lay directly onto chipboard or hardboard. Always over-lay with ply.
- Flooring should always be stored flat prior to installation
- Flooring should be stored in piles in the relevant room for at least 24 hours prior to fitting in order to acclimatise to the conditions of the room.
- The ambient room temperature, and the temperature of the flooring and adhesive, should be at least 18ºC (sub-floor temperature at least 15ºC)
- Underfloor heating should be switched off for 48 hours before and after laying your new floor
- USE ONLY harveymaria® Recommended Adhesives. For conservatories and areas with underfloor heating use the appropriate harveymaria® specialist High-Temperature Adhesive.
- Begin laying from the centre of the room - Always cut tiles with picture side up and always use a sharp blade
- The tiles will bond with the adhesive to form a water-tight seal. Small gaps at the edges of the room, around baths and toilets etc. should be filled with a mastic sealant.
- Ensure that your new floor is free from general traffic for 24 hours after installation or protect from direct contact for that period

Maintenance for the Home:
All
harveymaria® floors are made from resilient materials which require relatively low maintenance. As with all floors,
regular maintenance of your harveymaria® floor will help ensure the high performance of the floor throughout its life. All
harveymaria® floors are supplied with a domestic warranty (up to 15 years). A condition of the warranty is that you follow the recommended maintenance routine outlined below.
- A good doormat is always advisable for floors with access to the outdoors
- Floors should be regularly swept or cleaned with a vacuum and a well wrung mop or damp cloth
- The floor should be sponge-mopped periodically with
harveymaria® Routine Cleaner to remove any water-borne staining and soiling
- For added protection we recommend the DR. Schutz high performance Floor Care Kit available from
harveymaria®. The kit includes a polymer based emulsion polish which will protect the floor and restore the lustre to the floor after a period of wear.
- The Floor Care Kit is advised for areas of high traffic and for any areas more prone to heavier soiling (e.g. a busy entrance hall, kitchen area etc).
