FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to pay for samples?
A: No. All small samples are free. Order as many as you like. If you choose more than 4 there is a small delivery charge. For larger samples we make a small charge but this is refunded to you when you place a full order. See terms and conditions for full details.
Q: How do I calculate the size of my room and how many packs will I need?
A: Use our Room size calculator to calculate the floor area of your room.
Q: Do you send samples overseas?
A: Yes, they can be ordered online. There is a small shipping charge to send samples overseas.
Q: Can harveymaria® floors be used in a bathroom?
A: Yes, harveymaria® floors are waterproof and slip-resistant so perfect for bathrooms.
Q: Are harveymaria® tiles guaranteed?
A: Yes, all harveymaria® floors are manufactured to ISO9001 quality standards and guaranteed for domestic and commercial usage for up to 15 years. See terms and conditions for full details.
Q: Are any rooms not suitable?
A: The tiles are not suitable for use inside a shower cubicle, or on the floor of a “wet room” (where the floor is used as the shower tray); we have not thoroughly tested our tiles for wall use yet, so for this and any other non-standard project please call for advice.
Q: Is there a special adhesive?
A: We supply the recommended adhesive, which has been fully tested. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the suitability of other adhesives. We can also supply a high-temperature adhesive for use in conservatories and with under-floor heating.
Q: Are harveymaria® floors suitable for use with under-floor heating?
A: Yes, harveymaria® floors are suitable for use with most under-floor heating. Please also check with the heating manufacturer that their specific systems is approved for use with resilient flooring of this type. We recommend a high temperature adhesive when laying with under-floor heating, available for purchase through our website. Please call or email info@harveymaria.co.uk for any further advice.
Q: Can you send orders to the USA and rest of Europe?
A: Yes we ship orders all over the world every day. Our website will calculate the cost of shipping for you. For larger orders please contact us directly for a shipping quotation.
Q: Can I get the design on a roll of lino/vinyl?
A: No, these are solid tiles which are much more durable than traditional ‘lino’ and vinyl flooring on a roll. The strength and thickness of harveymaria® tiles make them too rigid to roll up.
Q: Can you put any design or photograph onto a floor?
A: Yes, we produce ‘commercial specials’ for company’s wishing to have their own design incorporating company colours or logo etc. These tend to be for larger areas and cost from £20.00 per sqm. For smaller domestic areas prices start from £150.00 per sqm.
Q: Have you got any shops where I can see the tiles?
A: As we are a specialist company we mainly sell direct over the internet and through a few selected distributors (UK only). Distributors are likely to only have sample tiles to show you rather than an entire floor. Free samples can be requested through our website.
Q: Do I have to order online or can I order over the telephone?
A: Our discount offers are only available online. We also can accept orders over the phone, via email, fax or in the post. We can take payment by credit/ debit card, cheque or bank transfer.
Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
Our normal delivery service takes approximately 4 days from receipt of order within mainland UK. Overseas orders and non-stock items may take a little longer. We will keep you informed of the delivery date at all times.
Q: How many packs should I order?
Please make sure you are ordering the right quantities. Our on-line room size calculator will help to estimate the size of your room. You should allow a minimum of 5% for wastage. If you have any awkward shapes to cut around then you will need to make a bigger allowance for wastage. Please contact us if you need any help.
Q: I am at work all day, how can I get my tiles delivered?
A: When you place your order you will have the option to have your order sent to an alternate delivery address such as a place of work. Alternatively, you will have the option to leave delivery instructions (e.g. please leave in a garage if I’m not in) which the delivery company will follow if they believe that it is safe to do so. If you choose not to sign for the goods then we cannot be held liable should your order subsequently go missing for any reason.
Q: Can you let me know which day you are sending my order out?
We will contact you with a delivery date, if this is inconvenient then you are welcome to contact us and re-arrange for a more convenient day.
Q: Can I get my order to arrive in the morning or at the weekend?
A: Yes, it is possible for most UK orders – for a small surcharge. Please contact us once you have placed your order to upgrade your delivery.
Q: Do the patterns match up at the edges?
A: Some of the patterns are designed to match up and others are designed to form a unique patchwork rather than an exact 100% match. For those that are not designed to match each tile is completely different and laid randomly, meaning your eye is drawn to the overall effect rather than any joins. The patterns are not designed to match on the Lifestyle or Contemporary collections.
Q: Can I collect the tiles from your office
A: We hold no stock or samples at our Croydon office. All stock is located in Ely, Cambridgeshire, where orders can be collected if requested by prior arrangement. Handling charges may still apply. Samples are only available by post.
Q: I bought one of your floors on a cork backed product years ago, can you still supply these designs?
A: The older designs have been discontinued but many of our new designs are quite similar.
